Media – Video Uploading (Completed)

We are building our own Videos system in the Media component, which will support uploading of raw video files into activity feeds, groups, messages, forum replies, and documents. The uploaded video files will be compressed and then viewable as playable videos.

App – Tablet Support

We are adding tablet support for the App. This will allow the app to function and look beautiful on an iPad or Android tablet.

Performance – API caching

This allows us to get data from the API cache, providing substantial performance improvements. We plan to bring this technology to The Platform to improve performance on the web.

Activity – Reactions

We are extending the “Likes” functionality in the activity feed to include reactions, allowing users to select emojis such as Love, Haha, Wow, Sad, Angry, etc.

Once we complete our Social Login component for The Platform, we will integrate the feature into the App in such a way that members can log into their same account from the app or web, via Facebook, Twitter, Google, and Sign in with Apple.

Currently, activity feeds are ordered by most recent. As new posts are created, older posts are pushed further down.

With this new feature, you’ll be able to order your activity feeds by a number of different options, including:

Trending – order by posts with the most recent likes and comments
Most Comments – order by posts with the most comments in a time period
Most Likes – order by posts with the most likes in a time period

With these options, posts will be bumped higher up your feeds, the more engagement they receive.

Edit Activity Comments

Just like with activity posts, you’ll be able to edit comments.

App – Dark Mode

We will add support for Dark Mode throughout the App, syncing with iOS and Android settings. This will allow all screens in the app to be displayed with dark colors for a relaxing experience at night.

App – Haptic Feedback

Haptic Feedback enhances the experience with your phone by implementing a vibration as you interact with elements on the phone. We plan to add haptic feedback in the App to improve usability and touch feedback.

Messages – Live Loading (Completed)

We want our Messenger to update in real time, similar to iMessage and WhatsApp. This will make our messenger much more responsive, and will allow us to extend it later on with a live chat box on the site that is in sync with the messenger.

Desktop Notifications (Completed)

We are adding support for desktop push notifications, allowing notifications from Platform to be displayed in the browser even when the website is not loaded on screen.

Web Push Notifications (Completed)

We are adding support for on screen notifications, allowing notifications from The Platform to be overlaid within the website as slide in “glimpse” notifications that appear on screen and can be dismissed.

App – Instant Messaging

We want the messages in the App to update in real time, similar to iMessage and WhatsApp. We are building this for the BuddyBoss Platform first, and then will integrate it into the app.

Activity – Scheduled Posts

We will allow users to create activity posts, which are set to be published at a specific date in the future instead of immediately.

Activity – Polls

We are adding the ability to publish polls into activity feeds, for other members to vote on and then view the results.

Activity – Hashtags

We are adding support for #hashtags in the activity feed, allowing people to create their own hashtags and use them in posts to create trending activity.

Customized Member Profiles

Currently, a member’s username is used to create their profile URL (for example: www.domain.com/members/username).

Improve the Forum Experience

We are considering a number of enhancements such as:

More layout options for forums and discussions
Up/down voting for discussions and replies
Create discussion categories inside of forums

Live Loading of Comments and Likes

We are planning to implement the live loading of comments and likes which will load in real-time without requiring members to refresh the page.

Subscribe to group notifications

We’re working on an exciting new feature to allow your members to subscribe to group notifications. Once subscribed, members will receive notifications of new activity posts and forum discussions created in the group. These will delivered to all devices (email, web, app) enabled by the member in their notification preferences.

Support for Zoom in the VSN App

We will be adding support for our Zoom feature in the VSNetwork App. This will allow your members to launch and join Zoom meetings from Social Groups from within your app.
